Truth About Pandemic Flu Documentary

The World Health Organization (WHO) announced on June 11, 2009 that H1N1 (formerly called Swine Flu') is a Pandemic. Some say this announcement is unnecessary or premature because few have died. However, WHO believes H1N1 is still in the early stages, and they estimate that 2 billion people (one-third of the worlds population) could be infected over the next two years.

H1N1 Spanish Flu ("Swine Flu")

You may be surprised to learn that the Spanish Flu pandemic of 1918-1919 was actually an H1N1. Spanish Flu first appeared in the Spring (April 1918) and it did not kill many (just like H1N1 today). However, it mutated over the summer into a much deadlier strain and came back in the fall and killed 50 Million people. Viruses constantly change. The truth is nobody knows what will happen with this virus in the fall. However, one thing is certain: this virus is very transmissible much more so than the normal human flu. In a pandemic, 30% to 40% of the population are infected.
